Big City and big Mountains
09.07.09
I can not say that I got much rest after the quite exhausting World Cup in Sylt/Germany but I can sure say that I got a lot of diversity in my activities of the last two weeks. On my schedule: one week in the City that never sleeps – New York, and one week in Switzerland – the nation of the big alps.
My week in the big city turned out to be full of action and excitement. With a super interesting and fun photo shoot (pictures coming out in October, so stay tuned!), a visit at the Best Kiteboarding Center in Amityville on Long Island and a meeting and dinner with my big boss Ian Huschle (CEO and President of Best Kiteboarding), I still found some time for a little shopping and a walk through Central Park.
Next up was a trip to Switzerland. Everything was organized for me and all I had to do was to take the car train from Berlin to Munich and then drive an hour to Switzerland. Over the next few days I drove through most of Switzerland, meeting the Best Odyssey boat Captain Gavin and his girlfriend Jody in Interlaken, visiting the Sunset Surfshop in Biel, visiting friends in and around Zurich and spending the long weekend in Silvaplana for the Kitesurf Trophy stop at Lake Silvaplana. Even though we did not get any wind during the competition it was great to be back (I had already been to 4 competitions here before), to enjoy the huge and beautiful mountains around and to see all the people from Hotel Julier Palace and the Kite Sailing School Silvaplana again.
After 2 exciting and quite different weeks I am now back in Germany where my girls camp will start in just 2 days… Always in action… ☺ Kristin
