Just 3 days after Greece the KPWT competitors and organization already met up again. This time in Italy at Lago to Como.

Also a very beautiful spot Lago do Como however is not quite as wind consistent as Paros and so we had to hope for the best. The fist day brought about 50 minutes of wind and 4 heats were run, on the next day however we did not get any wind and you could already feel a little tension in the air. As the 3rd day brought light winds in the afternoon for about 1.5 hours we went ahead to run course races – one for the guys and one for the girls – followed by a few more heats of the singles. I was happy to win the course race in the light winds and thanked my awesome equipment (Delta Board and 14 Nemesis) ones more for a great performance! I still did not get to ride my first heat of the single though as the wind was so on and off that many heats had to be rerun until the wind finally died off completely after a few valid heats. However, the next day we finally got the “normal” wind conditions and were able to finish the singles. Still being up and down the wind also was pretty gusty, making the choice of kite a difficult one. For me it was definitely not my best day ever. Being overpowered on my 12 and in the next heat underpowered on my 9 I also was having troubles with my leach and got hooked into my harness hook a few times during my heats (making it impossible to unhook) and crashed some moves I very seldom crash. Ending up in 4th place after loosing to Ania and Ainhoa I just did not feel great about my riding but accepted that everyone has a bad day ones in a while and that this one must have been mine. But the competition was not over yet and we ended up running 2 more races that I managed to win, securing the first place on the race podium and the second one on the overall podium for this event. As this evening was finished with a breathtaking FIAT freestyle-motorbike show I definitely felt lucky to be at this event, to be able to be traveling to beautiful places and to be having so much fun racing and kiting. The next and last day came with lots of rain and the hope for a double elimination was gone straight away. We finished the competition at Lago di Como with a price giving at 2 pm and off I was… on my way to Tarifa now for a photoshooting, going to Turkey for the next KPWT in 4 days. Back on the road again to more events, more competitions and new adventures!
