Germany's Kitesurf-Queen becomes Course Racing World Champion 2008
20.11.08

Even after sever injury at the beginning of the year the German kitesurfer wins her 8th World Champion Title

Neustadt/Germany (11.11.08) A fractured ankle just before the season began could not stop her: Kristin Boese, Germanys best Kiteboarder, put everything she had into the rest of the season and after a power performance at the final in Morocco became World Champion. The 31 year old secured her 8th Title in total in various disciplines with this and happily says after her success:
“I have now won World Titles in at least one discipline a year for the past 4 years. This sounds strange to me as sometimes I don’t even realize this, but at the moment I am just very thankful to have ended my toughest season so far successfully.”

With unbelievable will power and commitment Kristin Boese worked her way back to the top after her injury, won 5 of 6 Course Racing World Cups and on top of it became 2nd in the Overall Ranking and still 3rd in Freestyle. In the future she wants to really put her focus on Waveriding and especially Course Racing. “The Racing has the best chance to become an Olympic discipline. It would be a dream to end my career at the Olympic Games in London” hopes Boese for the recognition of her sport.

Until then the German Kitesurfer still has other plans though. Her second book (Wavekiten mit Kristin Boese) just got published in German and will now be translated into English like her first book. In the beginning of 2009 she will release an instructional DVD. “I want to make Kitesurfing more popular because it really is not just about top performance. This awesome sport is great for re-energizing, for active recreation and to get new energy for everyday life. It keeps you fit and healthy, is the best full-body workout and on top of it is the best fun you can have.” lionizes the World Champion about her passion.

Kristin Boese will once again spend her off-season kitesurfing and training in Western Australia together with her boyfriend Sky Solbach, who is also a well-known Kitesurfer that became Boarder Cross World Champion in 2007 - a great training symbiosis for hopefully another successful year to come.
