After a long break Kristin Boese is back on the podium
This year the season did not start out perfect for Kristin Boese. Just 5 days before the first World Cup of the year she injured her ankle in a freestyle session on Maui/Hawaii. Diagnosis: fractured fibular, 6-8 weeks break. Not the best news for Kristin.
But after a time out it now seems that Kristin is back on track again. After only 6 weeks from date of injury she participated at the race championships in San Francisco where she first struggled with the still weak ankle but ended up in a great second place with only a few points behind the Brazilian Clarissa Hempel.
Now, only 7 weeks after her injury, the Bestkiteboarding team rider attended the KPWT World Cup onParos/Greece. Being careful in her first jumps and moves she was kicked out earlyin the Single Elimination and only in 7th place after this first round. Hoeweber, in the Double Elimination the 31 year old seemed focused and determined, landingone powerfull move after the other and riding 6 heats in a row and ended upin second place.
In the disciplin course racing Kristin Boese even dominated from the beginning. Winning 4 out of 6 races she ended up on top of the podium and with both disciplins in count even won the Overall Score for the event on the beautiful greek island Paros.
"I really had no idea how well I could ride on Paros. The day I got there was the firstday I was alowed to do jumps again and I was a bit scared. But after I got kickedout in the singles so early I knew the only thing that would help my result is to not think about my ankle while I ride. I am still surprised myself about my great results here and am so thankful for my ankle to endure this week..." says KristinBoese after the pricegiving.
